Greetings for the month of May, members!
Our IT Specialist.info Web site has now been officially renamed the IT Specialist Career Center. The Career Center is designed to be used as a social networking site whereby members or IT professionals can not only post their resumes, but network with their peers and recruiters while searching for jobs posted on the IT Specialist Job Board and Employment Forums. The two distinct job posting areas were designed to accomodate the needs of recruiters candidate search campaigns, so make certain you explore both sections of the Career Center. Also, tech jobs are also automatically "pushed" or published to specific categories or areas of expertise to help you find them quickly and easily (e.g. Developer, Systems, Internet, etc.) once a recruiter posts them on the Job Board or in the Forums area.
Likewise, candidates are encouraged to publish a summary review of their employment search using the "wall" feature in their IT Specialist Profile located in the Career Center, in addition to posting their resumes. This allows recruiters to quickly see what types of jobs you are interested in, your qualifications and expectations as a prospective candidate. The IT Specialist Groups area in the Career Center also features a wall where you can communicate with peers in general. This feature is similar to the wall feature found in Facebook's group wall function. Networking in groups is a great way to show others your knowledge and expertise in a specific subject matter. So take full advantage of this feature.
Finally, make sure you check out our new IT Specialist Resource Center. The Resource Center contains hundreds of free publications (for those that qualify) in the form of magazines, white papers and podcasts that pertain to information technology and related fields. As you may well know, IT now permeates every aspect of business and government now, so don't be distracted or put off by some of the magazine titles and white papers that you may see in our IT publications library.
